We recommend fighting Ulcerated Tree Spirit at Level 8 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.
Stick to the Boss' Sides
Ulcerated Tree Spirit is a large, snake-like creature with tree limbs. Although it has a long tail, it only attacks with its claws and fire breath, so you only need to avoid its upper body.
The boss' movements are slow and its attacks are heavily telegraphed, making them easier to dodge. Stay on its sides to avoid Claw Swipes and take advantage of its huge hitbox for consistent damage.
Ranged Users Can Deal Consistent Damage
Since Ulcerated Tree Spirit moves slowly, melee fighters can tank the boss and deal damage up close. Meanwhile, ranged users like Ironeye and Recluse can stay out of range from the boss's attacks and shoot him from afar.
Avoid Ground Explosions
At a certain point, Ulcerated Tree Spirit charges up and unleashes explosions on the ground around it. To counter this, back away once you see the boss glowing with yellow energy and avoid the glowing ground markers to stay safe.
