Recommended Level for Magma Wyrm

Recommended Level Level 9

We recommend fighting Magma Wyrm at Level 9 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.

Attack the Boss from the Flanks

You should be attacking the Magma Wyrm from its sides or at its tail. The wyrm doesn't have many moves covering these areas that are deadly or hard to dodge, so you should be sticking to its flanks most of the time.

The only time you should get off its flanks is when it gets ready to shoot lava towards the sides, indicated by its head turning back.

Stop Attacking When It Charges Around

The Magma Wyrm has a move where it charges around leaving lava in its wake. During this move, keep your distance and get out of the Magma Wyrm's path.

Attacking him in melee while he charges will just damage you and leave you susceptible to the lava on the ground.

Watch Out for Stomps and Sweeps

You'll notice that the Magma Wyrm wields a huge sword, it uses this to do wide sweeping attacks behind it. Watch out for when it raises the sword, you can move to where the head is to avoid the attack or time your dodge accordingly.

How to Unlock Magma Wyrm

Fought as a Field Boss or at The Crater

Magma Wyrm

Magma Wyrm is a formidable Field Boss you can find on expeditions around Limveld. The Magma Wyrm is also the boss guarding the Special Smithing Table in Shifting Earth: The Crater event. You'll need to beat the wyrm before you can use the smithing table.
