The Scholar's best weapons are those that can inflict status effects such as Blood Loss and Frostbite, taking advantage of his S-scaling in Arcane.
Try to Power Stance the following weapon combinations for quick strikes and status effect application:
- Dual Antspur Rapiers to maximize Scarlet Rot buildup.
- Dual Frozen Needles for Frostbite uptime.
- Antspur Rapier and Frozen Needle for both ailments.
- Antspur Rapier or Frozen Needle with any Thrusting Sword.

Weapon Passives Will Still Apply Even If Not Using Them
Weapon passives apply as long as the weapon is in your inventory, even if you're not actively using it. Exceptions to this rule are weapons that have a hand icon on their passives. These weapons must be equipped for the passives to take effect.
Be sure to fill your inventory with useful passives, even from random weapons you won't use, if the effect suits the build so you don't waste an inventory slot.

All of the Scholar-exclusive Relic Passives are great for supporting the team. Items confer effect to all nearby allies is a mandatory as a support as it shares the enhanced effect of items.
You can increase your personal damage with Pot-related Relics. Relics that increase survivability are also recommended as the Scholar is fairly squishy.

As a support, the Scholar should prioritize Dormant Powers that help survivability. Staying alive is vital as Analyze puts you in a vulnerable position.
Wraiths While Walking Activates when Analyzing
The Wraiths While Walking effect has a neat interaction where it activates while you use Analyze. This allows you to contribute damage while debuffing enemies or buffing allies.
Other “While Walking” effects also activate but they require you to have proper positioning.

Throwing Pots provide quick, ranged damage, and scale with your Item-Handling Level.
Note: Item-Handling Level is tracked per item type. Any Pot you use contributes to your Pot Item-Handling Level.

The Small Pouch adds an extra item slot in your inventory, allowing you to maximize item usage. It can be purchased from merchants, or can be granted at the start of an expedition through a Relic passive.

If you already have enough survivability or you're confident in dodging attacks, pick up Talismans that boost your personal damage. Otherwise, take Talismans that help you stay alive.
How to Play Scholar
Equip Relic with Item Effects Confer to Allies
The Relic with the effect Item Effects confer to all nearby allies is important when playing as a support. With the Bagcraft passive, upgraded item effects are also shared to allies.
Always Use Items
Always use your items and start building up your Item-Handling Level as soon as possible. Use your Throwing Pots on tougher enemies to quickly defeat them and gain levels.
With increased Item-Handling Levels, your items become stronger and more effective. For example, Throwing Pots deal more damage with lingering effects or extra projectiles.

If you have a full inventory, you can quickly use items without picking them up by holding the Interact Button and pressing Up on the D-Pad.
Use all the items you see on the ground to quickly increase your Item-Handling Level. Note that Throwing Knives and Pots need to land on a target to increase Item-Handling level.
Analyze Has Three Levels
The Analyze skill goes up to three levels, determined by how long you target an enemy. Each level is represented by the ring's color as it fills, with a symbol marking the max level. The closer you are to the target, the faster the ring fills.
Allies can be targeted to also buff their attack with a Relic that has the effect: [Scholar] Allies targeted by Character Skill gain boosted attack.
Increase the Team's Stamina with RT or R2

When Analyzing, press RT or R2 (Ctrl + Left Click on PC) to activate a Stamina buff for yourself and nearby allies. The Stamina buff has a duration of 40 seconds.
Level 2 Analyze is recommended for most combat encounters as max level takes too long, and the temporary shield has a really tight window. Using Analyze while the buff is up refreshes the duration.
Block an Attack with the Temporary Shield
The temporary shield has a very short duration, so think of it as a team-wide parry instead. When it blocks an attack, it damages surrounding foes.
Debuff Enemies with LT or L2
Hit LT or L2 (Q on PC) when Analyzing to reduce enemy attack damage for 30 seconds. At Level 3, enemies glow with black and white streaks, and the next attack against them deals 60% more damage.
Unless you can coordinate your attacks, Level 2 Analyze is recommended for most situations. Using Analyze while the debuff is up refreshes the duration.
Use Ultimate Against Multiple Enemies
Use your ultimate on multiple enemies to link them, causing them to share incoming damage. Try to save this for encounters with multiple bosses.
Allies within the range of the ultimate are also linked, allowing any healing to be shared across the party. This synergizes with the Bagcraft passive which enhances the effects of items.

Scholar Passive Ability - Bagcraft

Bagcraft - Store additional resources. Level up the power or effect of items by using them. |
The Scholar's passive ability, Bagcraft, allows him to carry more items. Consistent item use during a run increases Item-Handling Level, which enhances the effects and potency of items.
Scholar Character Skill - Analyze

The Scholar's Analyze is a versatile skill that can inflict debuffs on enemies or provide buffs to allies.
Scholar Ultimate Art - Communion

Communion is a versatile ultimate skill that helps the party deal with multiple enemies by sharing damage among them. It also shares healing across the party.

Anonymous 16 daysThere is a red relic you can get from the collector sign board after defeating an Everdark Sovereign with Scholar that gives you HP restored when using medicinal boluses, etc., Items confer effect to all nearby allies, and small pouch in possession at start of expedition. Could also be that it shows up once you have beaten an everdark with both Scholar and Undertaker.
