What are Greatswords?

Weapons Favored by Wylder

Greatswords are the favored weapon type of Wylder. They scale great with Strength and decently with Dexterity with Wylder having good stats in both. Wylder's starting weapon is a Greatsword, and their versatile movesets complement the character's flexible playstyle.

Heavy Hitting with Versatile Build Options

Greatswords are heavy weapons that swing slightly slower than other bladed weapon types but make up for it with high damage per hit. Their powerful strikes can easily stagger smaller enemies and many also offer decent reach for hitting enemies at a distance.

Greatsword weapon options are diverse, offering flexibility across different builds with unique Weapon Skills and playstyles. For instance, you can choose to two-hand them for maximum damage or pair them with a Greatshield for added defense.

In Nightreign, weapons don't have stat requirements. Unlike in the original game, all Nightfarers will be able to use all weapons found during a match.

How to Get Greatswords

Greatswords are Found Randomly

Greatswords are part of Nightreign's randomized loot pool (which varies per match). During a run, they can be dropped by enemies, found as loot in chests within POIs, or claimed as rewards from defeated bosses.
