How to Reconnect and Play Online

It is possible to reconnect back into an expedition when you get disconnected due to connection issues. Read on to find out how to return to your expeditions after getting disconnected and how to play online.

How to Reconnect Back Into the Game

Quit the Current Session

Leaving a Game

You will need to manually quit and then log back into the game. Leaving can be done by selecting the options from Quit Game in the menu.

If you were disconnected due to a connection error, you will be able to log back into the game and rejoin your team.

If you decide to leave an ongoing expedition by using the Quit Game function in the menu without getting disconnected, you will run the risk of incurring a leave penalty.

Leave Penalty

No Option to Reconnect While In-Game

Unfortunately, there is no option to reconnect while you're in-game. Manually quitting is the only method to restore your connection.

Leaving from Inactivity (AFK)

Leaving AFK

Being inactive for a long period of time will force the game to eject you back into the title screen. You will then have to start a new expedition.

How to Play Online

Check Online Status at Main Menu

Main Menu Online

At the lower right corner of the main menu, you can see your online status as well as the current version of Elden Ring Nightreign installed on your system.

If the word Online does not appear, you will need to select Log In from the options at the main menu to connect into the game.

Embark on an Expedition

Matchmaking Settings Multiplayer

Go to the Roundtable Hold and interact with it to embark on an expedition. Select Multiplayer from the Matmaking Settings menu.

Proceeding here will match you with random players. If you want to play with your friends, set a Multiplayer Password and have each party member input the password before continuing.
