Nightreign is Not a Battle Royale

While the game follows the same core loop as most battle royales with a shrinking zone and randomized items and weapon drops, these are the only similarities with battle royale games. The game does not sport any PvP content and is a co-op only game which makes Nightreign not a battle royale game.

Nightreign is Closer to a Roguelike

Roguelike Random Loot
Nightreign will pit you against mobs and bosses you can defeat for items and temporary upgrades. These upgrades will persist during the session but will expire once the run is completed (except for Relics, which are permanent trinkets you can equip to your Nightfarers).

This puts Elden Ring Nightreign's genre closer to a roguelike than a battle royale game.

A Time-Attacked Focused Co-Op Game

Co-Op game
Aside from roguelike elements, the game is also highly focused on being a time-attack game. Your main goal is to clear through enemies within a given time while finding bosses and loot to get stronger. Unlike its Souls predecessors where every move is calculated, Nightreign is a faster-paced game that also requires cooperation.

Well, BR mode comes from Hunger Games. which essentially is collecting gear and fithing with monsters / people. Technically it is BR game after all xD, but hunger game
