We recommend fighting the Frenzied Flame Troll at Level 3 for a standard difficulty experience. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.

If you find Clarifying Boluses before entering Madness soldier encampments, use them right away. In Nightreign, all Boluses grant permanent resistance buffs when consumed, not just relief from Status Effect Buildup.
Since Madness status effects accumulate rapidly and are highly damaging, it's more effective to use the Boluses for their permanent Madness resistance rather than saving them to clear Madness Buildup mid-combat.

The Frenzied Flame Troll boss itself doesn't have many smaller enemies surrounding it, but the camp's madness-inflicted soldiers can follow you into the boss area and disrupt the fight. Clear out the mobs you see on the way to the boss so you can go through the boss fight smoothly.
The Frenzied Flame Troll occasionally unleashes Madness-infused attacks that erupt from its eyes. These are highly dangerous, dealing heavy damage and rapidly building up the Madness meter, which is often lethal for lower-leveled or squishy characters.
It's best to avoid this attack entirely and wait for the long recovery window afterward to strike. Trying to attack the Troll during this move isn’t worth the damage taken.
The Frenzied Flame Troll is found in soldier encampments marked with a Madness symbol on the map. These camps are filled with other Madness-afflicted enemies, so proceed with caution as you approach.
