Heolstor the Nightlord Weakness
Weak to Holy Damage
Heolstor the Nightlord is weak to Holy damage, as overwhelming him with Holy attacks causes the boss to get staggered. This will give you a window to inflict critical damage and land some additional hits.
With that said, make sure to look for Holy-based weapons during your Expedition, and stock up on Holy Water Pot and Holy Grease to help you in your fight against the final boss.

Since Heolstor the Nightlord is the final boss, we recommend fighting him at Level 14 for a standard difficulty experience, slightly higher than our usual recommendation for the other Nightlords. If you wish for a greater challenge, you may fight this boss at lower levels.
Save Your Ultimates for Phase 2
During his The Shape of Night form, Heolstor is relatively easy to dodge and only attacks with basic melee attacks.
Don't waste your Ultimate Arts on this phase as you can easily overpower him regular attacks. Keep your distance and only attack him when he's done with his combos.
Wait Out His Combos Before Attacking
Heolstor moves slowly but his long combos and wide swings come out fast and he can quickly switch between different targets, often ending his combo to attack a different player.
It's best to play it safe and wait out his combos before you counterattack as he often takes a few seconds to reorient himself after doing a combo. Play it safe and patient, and keep a good distance from him to avoid getting caught in his attacks.
Stagger Him with Ultimate Arts
Heolstor is surprisingly easy to stagger out of his long combos with Ultimate Arts, giving you an opportunity to wail on him or go for a riposte.
Ironeye's Single Shot is one of the best Ultimate Arts to use against him since you can safely use it from range. Wylder's Onslaught Stake can achieve the same thing, though the move requires getting up close to the boss.
Avoid Being Greedy to Conserve Flasks
Heolstor's wide swings and unpredictable moves during his second phase means being greedy when attacking him can result in misplays or even a quick defeat.
The safest time to attack Heolstor is after he does his combos, Use this opening to land a hit or two, then back off to conserve both your HP and Flasks.
Receives a Random Buff in his Third Phase
Heolstor will enter his third phase at half HP, flying into the sky to open a rift that buffs him with the other Nightlord's element. Once you see him fly into the air, run away to the opposite direction to avoid the large explosions that will periodically occur.
This attack buffs Heolstor with a random buff associated with a different Nightlord. In the footage above, he gains the ability to inflict Madness from the Equilibrious Beast.
The explosions also erupt in a star-shaped pattern, so you'll need to pay attention where the ground cracks appear so you don't unintenionally dodge into another explosion.
Dodge During Cover of Darkness
During the second phase, Heolstor will cover the battlefield in darkness and shoot homing dark projectiles. You can avoid these by simply dodging sideways or backwards.
Time Your Dodge During Exploding Fissures
Heolstor can summon exploding fissures on the ground while doing combos. These cover a relatively smaller area around him, but explode faster after a delay and also retain the element of the buff he received when he first uses the sky-tearing attack.
Dodge these smaller explosions, and then run away from the boss when he flies into the air to avoid his exploding slam attack!

Defeat 4 Nightlords to unlock the game's final boss, Heolstor the Nightlord. Defeating Heolstor will also mark Nightreign's story completion.
