Church Locations

Look for Glowing Golden Spire Icons on the Map

Church

Churches are partially collapsed, open-air structures that appear on your map with a distinctive gold spire icon. Each map seed will place them in different locations, so make sure to map them out as you spawn in during Day 1.

The icon for a Church is distinct in Nightreign in that it changes color depending on whether you've visited it or not. If the icon is grayed out, it means you've already visited it to increase your flask charges.

Great Churches are Hostile POIs

Difference Between Great Church and Church

While they share the same name, Great Churches are in fact hostile points-of-interest. These locations are perfect for Day 1 rune farming due to how easy the enemies are to deal with and how squishy all possible boss spawns are.

Locations that Increase Your Flask Charges

Church Altar

Interacting with the altar inside a Church grants you 1 additional Flask charge. Aside from defeating the Night 2 boss or making a deal with the Scale-Bearing Merchant, this is the primary way of increasing your flask charges before fighting the Nightlord in the final night.

How to Get More Flask Charges

Guarantees a Few Consumable Drops

Consumables play a huge part in the gameplay loop of Nightreign. Churches will always have 4 breakable boxes that you can destroy to get a random assortment of consumables.

However, unlike other POIs that have themed drops, Churches will usually contain useful consumables like Warming Stones, Pickled Turtle Necks, Exalted Flesh, Starlight Shards, and different types of boluses.
