Reach North Corel for the First Time

Of Robed Men and Ransoms unlocks when you reach North Corel for the first time and after talking to Doctor Sheiran in his clinic, as part of the Chapter 7 main story quest. You get to North Corel soon after defeating the Gigatrice boss and riding the mine cart.

Accept Doctor Sheiran's Quest

Talk to Doctor Sheiran and accept his quest. Choose the dialogue option "The letter" to proceed with the quest.

Follow Red XIII to Old South Corel Mine

Follow Red XIII to the destination. You will encounter a few tough enemies on the way so prepare yourself for a tough journey.

How to Beat Landworms

You will have to fight some tough Landworms on the way. They are weak to Ice so try to Pressure them with Blizzard.

Landworms can swallow a party member, which removes them from the battle until the Landworm is defeated. Try to inflict damage while it is performing its Swallow move to Pressure it for even longer.

How to Beat Chimera

The Chimera is weak to Fire so exploit its weakness whenever you can. It becomes pressured after using its Aquatic Bezoar skill. This skill is quick and hard to dodge, so we recommend blocking.

Follow Handprints Through the Cave

Aim your flashlight around the cave to find the robed men's handprints. Follow the trail of prints deeper into the cave, fighting enemies along the way.

Unlock the Door at the End of the Cave

The door at the end of the cave will be locked. Follow this path around the room to turn on the cableway switch. Then, grapple onto the moving containers on the ceiling to make your way across the room and land on the southeastern platform, where the door switch awaits.

Defeat the Dark Claw

In the final step of the quest, you will need to defeat the Dark Claw. It has no weaknesses and the only way to pressure it is to evade its Reaper Claws attack. Evading it is a simple matter of dodging to the side and away from it.

Once it has been pressured, increase its stagger gauge greatly by using abilities like Focused Thrust. When it has been staggered, use powerful abilities like Braver or your Limit Breaks to deal immense damage to it.

When Dark Claw has been defeated, you will be sent back to Dr. Sheiran's Clinic, where the quest ends.
