Deal enough damage to pressure Interrupt Inner Turmoil or Chaotic Consumption

Inflicting enough damage will pressure him. Making him flinch during Inner Turmoil or Chaotic Consumption will make him easier to pressure until he recovers.

Equip Star Pendant to Counter Poison

You can equip Star Pendant and make your characters immune to Galian's Beast poison. You can buy it from a Vending Machine for 1,500 Gil.

Use Chakra to Heal and Cure Poison

Alternatively, you can equip a Chakra Materia on your characters to give them the ability to heal and cure poison using it. You can also get Chakra Materia in a Vending Machine for 500 Gil.

Apply Debuffs During the Fight

Debrave	Decreases Physical Defense for a certain duration. Materia: Disempowerment

Deprotect	Decreases Physical Attack for a certain duration. Materia: Enervation
Deshell	Decreases Magic Attack for a certain duration. Materia: Enervation

Galian Beast is weak against defense and attack-reducing debuffs. Exploit that and keep applying debuffs to defeat him quickly.

Use Barret to Charge ATB and Apply Debuff Quickly

You can use Barret to apply these debuffs quickly, as he can accumulate ATB charges fast with his Overcharge and ranged basic attack. Just make sure he has enough MP to cast those spells throughout the boss fight!

Dodge Savage Beast at All Costs

Galian Beast will use his unblockable Savage Beast move to grab one of your characters and perform a combo on them. Below half-HP characters might die if hit by this move, so try to avoid this move at all costs once you see the attack prompt on the screen!

If you fail to avoid the Savage Beast move, switch to a different character to attack and pressure Galian Beast to cancel the attack.

Avoid Chaos Glaives When its HP is Below 60%

When Galian Beast's HP falls around 60%, it will charge up and unleash a powerful blast named Chaos Flare. You can avoid getting hit by moving away from him once you see the attack prompt!

Galian Beast Hard Mode Build

Notice from Game8	The builds featured in this Hard Mode section are at Weapon Levels 7~8. If you find that you don't have enough Materia slots to complete the setup, consider getting all the possible Manuscripts on Normal, first.

Additional Build Note:

• You can use the Genji Gloves on Aerith to surpass the 9,999 damage cap.

Use Barret's Lifesaver and Steelskin

Immediately use Lifesaver and Steelskin at the start of battle as Barret to tank the damage of the entire party to keep Aerith and Cait Sith's HP full.

Use Chakra to mitigate Barret's received damage; this saves MP and also fills the ATB gauges of the party with Skill Master and ATB Assist.

Note: Lifesaver is a weapon skill from the Barrage Blaster.

Block Attacks to Avoid Damage

You can block various attacks of the Galian Beast using Barret to avoid damage and build ATB charges. Keep in mind that the Galian Beast's special moves (Chaos Moves) are unblockable.

Use Soul Drain or Fira to Pressure

Use Soul Drain twice to pressure the Galian Beast while Inner Turmoil is active. This is to manage your MP in order to cast debuffs on the Galian beast for your attacks to hit harder.

You can also use Fira casted from an Arcane Ward to save an ATB charge; but keep in mind that you need MP to cast debuffs on the Galian Beast.

Cast Debuff Spells from Aerith

Cast Deshell to further increase the damage of your spells and Debrave to decrease the damage Barret will recieve (provided that Barret's Lifesaver is active).

Use Defaith during the second phase of the fight to weaken the damage of Chaos Glaives, Chaoes Flare, and Primal Roar.

Apply Buffs from Die and Slots of Cait Sith

Cait Sith's role throughout the fight is to support the entire party with various effects from Roll o' the Dice, and buffs from Lucky Slots.

Barret must have Lifesaver active to to keep Cait Sith alive as these abilities open Cait for damage.

Use Moogle Knuckle then Firaga After Staggering

Use Moogle Knuckle right after staggering the Galiant Beast to increase the damage multiplier, then use Firaga from Aerith's Arcane Ward to deal high damage.

You can use Genji Gloves on Aerith to surpass the 9,999 damage cap and deal higher damage.

Revive Allies with Phoenix Abilities

Save Phoenix for the second phase of the fight to use its abilities when your allies are down. Phoenix is also the best summon for the fight as it deals fire damage and can heal your party with its ultimate ability.
