How to Unlock Cosmo Canyon Chocobo
Accept Bonds of Trust Quest in Kamaria's Ranch
You will need to reach Chapter 10 in the main storyline and head towards the Chocobo Ranch in order to accept the Bonds of Trust Quest from Kamaria.
Do note that it is not required for you to complete this quest in orderder to unlock the Cosmo Canyon Chocobo.
Chapter 10: Watcher of the Vale Walkthrough
Complete Chocobo Intel: Cosmo Canyon's Soaring Birds
After you've accepted the quest from Kamaria, you will be able to unlock the Chocobo Intel: Cosmo Canyon's Soaring Birds. Follow the objective marker of the Chocobo Intel on the map, and begin Wrangle a Chocobo minigame.
Wrangle the Chocobo Aponi
You will have to start a minigame after reaching the location of the Chocobo Intel on the map. For this minigame, you will have to wrangle the blue feathered Chochobo named Aponi.

Push the First Cart to the End of the Rail
Push the first cart to the end of the rail by holding down the L2 button. Make sure that the Chocobo near the cart is facing the other way so it won't notice you.
After you've reached your first turn, hear towards the large metal box and hide behind both the box and cart so the Chocobo nearby won't spot you.
Distract Nearby Chocobo
You will need to wait for the nearby Chocobo to face another direction so you could avoid detection. Once you see an opportunity, move to the other side of the cart and pull it until you reach the end of the track.
Flip the Switch
Once you're at the end of the track, flip the nearby switch and push the cart towards the newly changed rail location. You will have to pass by another Chocobo and avoid getting detected. Simply wait for it to face away from your location.
Grab Nearby Rocks
From there, you will notice that a bunch of rocks are located on your right as you're pushing the cart. Grab the rocks by pressing triangle on the controller.
Throw Rocks to Distract Chocobo
After you've collected the rocks, aim for a location of where to throw them by holding down L1. It's recommended that you throw a rock on a nearby area of the Chocobo standing beside the metal container.
Flip Another Switch
Press square to throw the rock to distract the Chocobo towards the direction of the rock you've thrown. While it's occupied, head for the nearby flip switch and come back to the cart.
Distract More Chocobos
Push the cart to the newly changed rail location and stop behind the first metal container you encounter. Pick up the rocks beside the container, and throw them to distract the nearby Chocobo.
Wrangle Aponi
After you've reached the end of the track, you'll see the blue Chocobo Aponi. Throw a rock to distract Aponi away from your direction, and sneak behind it. Press triangle to wrangle the blue Chocobo.
Once you've completed the minigame, you will now be able to call on the Cosmo Canyon Chocobo should you need a ride.
Cosmo Canyon Chocobo Abilities
Air Current Gliding
Cosmo Canyon Chocobo have the unique ability to glide through the air and ride the air currents so you could reach inaccessible areas. Markers are indicated on areas where the Cosmo Canyon can glide from.
