When you visit new regions and locations, your first priority should be to actively seek out Renmawave Towers and activate them. This will reveal World Intel datapoints on the map.
After revealing the locations of World Intel datapoints, be sure to seek them out and complete them. Once you do, you can use these locations as fast travel points, allowing you to get around much faster.
Another thing to remember when visiting a new region is that you can only summon a Chocobo after you wrangle one. You won't be able to summon a Chocobo from a different region so if you wish to get around easier, it would be wise to prioritize this.
Each region has an exclusive Chocobo variant that has unique capabilities such as scaling walls and gliding on air.
Chocobo Locations in All Regions
Another new useful feature is Item Transmutation which allows you to craft items and gear from the materials you collect out in the wild. On that note, be sure to pick up any materials you come across.
Use this function to replenish your stocks instead of spending gil on shops and vending machines. Transmuting new items will give you Craftsmanship points, which will allow you to transmute more items including key items needed for quests.
A neat option you can use is the Set for All option in the Materia and Equipment screen. Simply press the touch pad when in the Materia and Equipment screen to edit the entire party's materias, allowing you to compare and swap them as needed.
Weapon abilities can only be used if you have the weapon equipped, unless you master them. Mastering weapon abilities unbinds them from the weapon, allowing you to use them even if you have a different weapon equipped.
You will get proficiency points whenever you use a weapon's abilities, so keep doing so until you master them. This will give you more options to choose in battle, making for a more versatile gameplay.
All Weapons and How to Get Them
The camera will automatically correct itself upon locking onto a specific enemy, so be sure to do it often when going up against large enemy crowds.
However, the lock-on function is quite sensitive, which may lead you to accidentally switch targets while trying to focus on a single foe. If you want to focus solely on one target, try to avoid tilting the Right Analog Stick too much.
Assess is a fantastic tactic and can make battles heaps easier. It does not cost MP and only costs one ATB Charge, so if you have the Assess Materia be sure to equip it on your party leader and use it as often as possible.
Assessing opponents will not only reveal your enemies' elemental affinities and weaknesses but can also reveal other ways you can defeat them. This includes ways on how to Pressure them.
If you find yourself relying on certain skills more often than others, it would be a good idea to assign them to a command shortcut for faster and easier access.
A character's command shortcuts can be viewed by holding down the L1 button while they're active.
Even if some of your teammates aren't part of your active party, they can still gain EXP and AP, which means you don't have to worry about leaving anyone behind.
It would also be a good idea to have them equip materia that you rarely use but believe may come in handy when the situation calls for it. That way, your materia can grow alongside your characters.
FF7 Rebirth features numerous fun minigames that provide players with a myriad of rewards, ranging from gil, to EXP, and even exclusive equipment such as the Speed Demon Keychain and Silver Brawler's Gloves!
More often than not, the equipment that will be rewarded to you cannot be found anywhere else. Should you find time to engage in these minigames, it's encouraged that you participate in them.
