Lifeline in Peril Walkthrough and Rewards

How to Unlock Lifeline in Peril

Accept Job in the Kalm Noticeboard

You can unlock the Lifeline in Peril side quest by accepting the job in the Kalm noticeboard. You can start accepting these types of jobs after completing the Break in the Saddle main scenario.

How to Complete Lifeline in Peril

1. Speak with the mayor of Kalm to hear the details.
2. Deliver the mayor's message at the mako pipeline maintenance warehouse.
3. Gather parts.
4. Follow Kyrie to the mako pipeline
5. Defeat the Noxicaps around the pipeline.
6. Report back to Fritz

Speak With the Mayor of Kalm

Once the job is accepted, speak to the mayor of Kalm. He will be located at the middle of the city, calming a mob of people.

Head to the Mako Pipeline Maintenance Warehouse

After getting the details, head southwest of the map to the mako pipeline maintenance warehouse. Ride your chocobos to make the trip quicker!

Gather Parts

A girl named Kyrie will be at the warehouse. She will ask you to collect parts to fix the mako pipeline nearby. Gather the necessary parts then come back to her.

Acquiring all 3 Rusted Sheet Metal and 5 Corroded Nails will reward you 3,000 gil, so be sure to collect them all!

Locations of All Parts

The parts Kyrie needs is located just around the warehouse, so don't worry about going far. Keep your guard up, as fiends can still be found around these locations!

Follow Kyrie to the Mako Pipeline

After gathering the parts and speaking to Kyrie, follow her to the mako pipeline that needs fixing. You'll fight fiends along the way, so stay sharp!

Defeat the Noxicaps

After the cutscenes, defeat the Noxicaps that will spawn around the pipeline. These fiends are weak to Fire, so cast the materia as much as you can. Also make sure you have Antidotes or the Star Pendant accessory equipped to prevent the poison these fiends inflict.

Report Back to the Mayor

After defeating the Noxicaps, fast travel back to Kalm and report back to the mayor. This will conclude the side quest.

Completing Lifeline in Peril will also increase your friendship with Barret. This will affect the events that will occur when you visit the Gold Saucer later in the game.

Romance and Relationship Guide

Sharpshooter's Companion Vol. VII Dropped by Noxicaps in Hard Mode

While playing in Hard Mode, defeating the Noxicaps will reward you the Sharpshooter's Companion Vol. VII for Barret. You can access Hard Mode after completing your first playthrough of the game in any difficulty.
