What Do We Expect to See?

Zack Fair's Role

In the original game, Zack perishes at the hands of Shinra Troops during the starting segments of the game.

Various trailers for FF7 Rebirth have since shown Zack to be alive, and it has left fans wondering what new role Zack will play in this iteration of Final Fantasy 7.

We already have Cloud as the protagonist of this story, so could Zack become a playable character? Or even an enemy?

Aerith's Fate

Spoiler Warning

Aerith dies... in the 1997 original.

But just like Zack Fair, it is entirely within the realm of possibilites for Aerith to survive her fateful encounter with Sephiroth this time around.

It is also possible that Zack will dive to save Aerith, taking Sephiroth's fatal attack in place of Aerith, which will tie in the events of the original while keeping Aerith around as a playable character for the third and final part of FF7's remake.
