Preloading for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth) begins on February 27, 2024, on PlayStation 5. Check out our guide for more details about the preload date and time, preload file size, along with instructions on how to download FF7 Rebirth ahead of its scheduled release date.
Will Preload be Available?
Available on February 27, 2024
Preloading will be available on PS5 starting February 27, 2024, exclusively for players who have preordered the game. This feature enables players to download the game in advance of its official release, minimizing wait times on launch day.
However, the game's file size remains unknown and will be announced soon. This section will be updated as soon as we learn more.
Players who bought the Japanese version of the game will be able to preload the game a day earlier.

How to Preload FF7 Rebirth
Check the Auto-Download Box
To preload Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you'll need to navigate to its store page and click on the preload button. This will redirect you to the auto-download screen. Be sure to check the auto-download box; otherwise, the game will not download automatically ahead of time.
Note: The preload option is only available for those who have preordered the game.

FF7 Rebirth Preload File Size
Requires 150 GB of Storage Space
The FF7 Rebirth preload requires you to have 145.643 GB of PS5 storage space - thrice the size of the FF7 Rebirth Demo. Players looking to play on day one will need to preload ahead of time due to the large file size. In comparison, FF7 Remake and Intergrade clocked in at 90 GB after release.
