How to Unlock Rendezvous in Costa del Sol

Available as Soon as You Start Chapter 7

Rendezvous in Costa del Sol becomes available as soon as you start Chapter 7. This comes after beating Grasptropod in the last quest.

How to Complete Rendezvous in Costa del Sol

1. Speak to the three fashionistas at the beach.
2. Follow Fran and Naomi's date plan.
3. Find Yorda at the Rent-a-Bird Stables.
4. Ride the Chocobo and look for shells with Aerith.
5. Return to Yorda.
6. Attend the Fashion Showcase.

Speak to the Three Fashionistas at the Beach

Look for the Three Fashionistas, Fran, Naomi, and Yorda, on the stage at the beach. They need a girl and a boy to go on a date for inspiration for their Fashion Showcase. Turns out, Cloud and Aerith are perfect for the job!

Follow Fran and Naomi's Date Plan

Follow the first two fashionista's date plan. It will be as follows:

• Fran - Pirate's Rampage Date
• Naomi - Run Wild Date (Red XIII will play for this)

You can simply reach the target score for these minigames, but for greater rewards, aim for the highest score!

Find Yorda at the Rent-A-Bird Stables

Yorda's date plan is a bit different. Instead of minigames, she will have Cloud and Aerith ride Chocobos and collect shells. You can find the last fashionista at the Rent-A-Bird Stables just outside Costa Del Sol.

Ride the Chocobo and Look for Three Shells With Aerith

Look for three shells at the shore southwest of Costa Del Sol. Two Barnaclaws will be present at the area, so clear them out then start looking for shells with your Chocobo! Be warned: your Chocobo can scour hidden Barnaclaws, so keep your guard up!

To look for objects, ride your Chocobo and hold the Up D-Pad Button to sniff. Face towards the arrow with the right analog stick then follow the trail to the shiny object on the ground. Stand on top of it then press the Down D-Pad Button to scour.

To avoid Barnaclaws, we marked the specific locations of each shell below:

Return to Yorda and Hand Over the Gigantopod Shell

Fast travel back to the Rent-A-Bird Stables and report to Yorda. When asked which shell to hand over choose the largest shell, the Gigantopod Shell, to get the largest relationship bonus with Aerith after the quest.

Note: Handing over the the scallop shell or conch will result in a lower favorability increases reward at the end of the quest for Aerith. For players looking to romance her, the Gigantopod Shell is your best option.

Attend the Fashion Showcase

After giving the shell, head back to the beach and attend the three fashionista's Fashion Showcase. A familiar face, Jules, will be at the showcase!

Access the Chocobo in the Corel Region

In this quest, you can get the Chocobo for the Corel Region from Yorda's date plan. It's unlocked after she gives you a Rent-A-Bird Membership for Cloud and Aerith's romantic stroll down the beach!

Increase Favorability With Aerith

Completing Rendezvous in Costa del Sol will also increase your friendship with Aerith. This will affect the events that will occur when you visit the Gold Saucer later in the game.

Romance and Relationship Guide

Deepened Relationship With Aerith if the Gigantopod Shell is Given

Giving the Gigantopod Shell, the largest of the three shells, to Yorda will result in a deepened relationship with Aerith. Giving the other two will not do this, so it's best to give the largest shell!

Telluric Scriptures Vol. X Dropped by Barnaclaws in Hard Mode

While playing in Hard Mode, defeating the Barnaclaws will reward you the Telluric Scriptures Vol. X for Aerith. You can access Hard Mode after completing your first playthrough of the game in any difficulty.
