Dreaming of Blue Skies is a Side Quest that can be unlocked during Chapter 4 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth). How to Unlock Dreaming of Blue Skies

Reach Crow's Nest in Junon

Dreaming of Blue Skies is available at the noticeboard once you reach Crow's Nest. It will be located far east of Under Junon. You can only access this location in the side quest, When Words Won't Do.

How to Complete Dreaming of Blue Skies

1. Go to Condor Hill.
2. Head to the hunting spot.
3. Use Belle to follow the scent's trail.
4. Use Belle to follow the fiend's scent trail.
5. Defeat the Mystic Dragon.
6. Choose the right bait for the Condor.
7. Return to Condor Hill.

Go to Condor Hill

Once you accept the job from the noticeboard, head to Condor Hill southwest of Crow's Nest.

From the Rest Spot in town, turn to your right and follow the path towards the wooden platforms. This will lead you straight to Condor Hill.

Head to the Hunting Spot

Go to the Condor's hunting spot indicated in the map. It's located east of Crow's Nest, so you can use your Chocobo to get there faster. Alternatively, if you have repaired the Chocobo Stop nearby, fast travel there then head to the spot.

Use Belle to Follow the Scent’s Trail

In this spot, you will see a cow grazing in the grass. It will run away once you get close to it. Use Belle the Chocobo to sniff its scent trail. Follow it until you see the cow getting attacked by Ignilisks. Defeat them to protect the cow.

Use Belle to Follow the Fiend’s Scent Trail

After defeating the fiends, another flying fiend will take the cow. Use Belle again to sniff this mysterious monster's scent trail and follow it. The scent trail will lead you to the fiend's cave.

You will encounter vertical walls in the path towards the cave. This can easily be scaled by Belle the Chocobo, so don't worry!

How to Get the Black Chocobo

Defeat the Mystic Dragon

Inside the cave is the fiend, Mystic Dragon. Defeat it to take back the bait for the Condor.

It's easier to deal damage to it once you Stagger it. Use Wind Attacks to Pressure it easily then go all out once it's down. Use Cloud's Cross Slash or Tifa's Somersault to deal tons of damage.

Choose the Best Food for the Condor

After defeating Mystic Dragon, you'll get the option to choose which meat to take for the Condor: the Bovine Meat or Monster Flesh. Choose the Bovine Meat to get a better reward at the end of the quest.

Return to Condor Hill

Fast travel to Condor Hill to complete the quest. A cutscene will play and you will see the full might of the Condor!

Increase Favorability With Tifa

Completing Dreaming of Blue Skies will also increase your friendship with Tifa. This will affect the events that will occur when you visit the Gold Saucer later in the game.

Only the photograph received at the end of the quest will be affected the choice you made for the meat. You'll get a well-composed photograph for the Bovine Meat and a nice condor photograph for the Monster Flesh.

Way of the Fist Vol. VIII Dropped by the Mystic Dragon in Hard Mode

While playing in Hard Mode, defeating the Mystic Dragon will reward you the Way of the Fist Vol. VIII for Tifa. You can access Hard Mode after completing your first playthrough of the game in any difficulty.
