FF7 Rebirth - All Synergy Abilities and How to Get Them

Synergy Abilities are a new battle mechanic in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth) that combines the abilities of two party members for a powerful attack. Read on to find out how to use Synergy Abilities and a list of all Synergy Abilities!

Use ATB Attacks to Fill Up Synergy Gauges

FF7 Rebirth - Synergy Gauge

Before you can use Synergy Abilities, you must first fill up a character's Synergy Gauge which are the five vertical lines located below a character's name.

To fill up this gauge, that character must continuously use attacks that consume ATB charges, which can all be found in the Commands Menu.

Select the Synergy Ability from the Commands Menu

Once the Synergy Gauge is full, go to the Commands Menu, choose Synergy Ability, then select the Ability you wish to execute.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth - Unlock Synergy Abilities.jpg

Much like Final Fantasy X's Sphere Grids, Character Folios are where you can spend Skill Points (SP) to unlock character Skills, Abilities, and stat increases. Visit Maghnata Books and speak to the proprietor to customize your Folios.

A number of these augmentations, including Synergy Abilities, will require you to fulfill certain prerequisites like reaching a certain level or unlocking a previous ability. You can view these requirements in each character's Folio screens.
