How to Use Icerind Hatchet

Scales with Dexterity and Strength

The Icerind Hatchet mainly scales with Dexterity and leveling this attribute will increase the damage of your physical attacks. The Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom can further increase the damage of your attacks by raising your Dexterity.

This is an ideal weapon for players with high Dexterity with Frost builds looking for a fast-hitting axe that is capable of dealing good damage.

Has a Passive Frost Buildup

This weapon's physical attacks can cause Frost to buildup and once the meter has been filled it will inflict Frostbite. An enemy that has been afflicted by this status effect will take increased damage from all sources, making it a strong weapon against most enemies and bosses in the game.

It has fast normal attacks that are effective at applying the status effect and two-handing it will allow you to continuously attack an enemy's guard. The Icerind Hatchet cannot be customized with Whetblades and powerstancing it with another weapon that has a different status effect can greatly increase the amount of damage you can do.

Weapon Skill Deals AoE Frost Damage

This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War and is equipped with Hoarfrost Stomp as its default weapon skill. It unleashes a trail of freezing mist on the ground by stomping. It applies Frost and the ice that is left on the ground will break dealing additional damage.

Hoarfrost Stomp can be used to effectively deal damage in a wide area in front of you while quickly applying Frosbite as well. It can stop multiple enemies from rushing you and bosses can easily be afflicted if they are caught in the middle of the skill. In PvP situations, it is a good punish against aggressive players due to its wide range and fast buildup rate.
