Buffed in Ver 1.04

This skill was buffed in Ver 1.04, decreasing its FP cost and recovery time, and increasing its cast speed. The frost buildup effect during the skill duration has also been increased.

How to Use Moonlight Greatsword

Increases Magic and Frost Buildup

After charging the Dark Moon Greatsword you can just use it as a regular weapon until the buff wears off. Pressing the strong attack button while it's charged will release a blade-like projectile capable of taking on enemies from a distance.

Stack Talismans

Use the Shard of Alexander and the Godfrey Icon to boost the damage output of the skill's strong attack follow-up. These two talismans will stack providing increase in the skill's damage.

Charge the Sword Early

Keep in mind that charging the sword is be a bit slow and so the animation of the skill when pressing the attack button follow-up. What you can do is to charge the blade right before traversing the fog and then spam the attack buttons at the beginning of a boss fight.

Unique to Dark Moon Greatsword

You will need to complete a lengthy chain of quests for Ranni the Witch in order to obtain the Dark Moon Greatsword.
