Roll Behind to Dodge Scarlet Rot

Any time the Putrid Avatar goes for a butt slam attack, roll behind it (may take two rolls depending on positioning) to dodge the wave of Scarlet Rot and get in a few hits.

Prepare a Heal Option for Scarlet Rot

In case you get inflicted with Scarlet Rot, it's highly recommended that you either bring Preserving Boluses or the incantation Flame, Cleanse Me to cure it.

Use Frostbite and Fire

The Putrid Avatar is immune to almost all status effects, however, it is still affected by Frostbite (although still resistant). For the best effect, equip a weapon that has Frostbite buildup and a weapon that deals fire damage. When you see the burst of Frostbite damage go off, switch to the fire weapon and strike the Putrid Avatar once to reset its Frostbite meter. Switch back to the weapon that deals Frostbite buildup and repeat the process.
