How to Use Flail

Scales with Dexterity and Strength

The Flail scales higher with Dexterity than so focus on leveling it over Strength to increase its stat scaling Bonus. The Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom can further increase the damage of your attacks by raising your Dexterity.

Additionally, you can change the affinity of the weapon by using different whetblades to improve the default scaling of this weapon to better scale with your stats.

Has a Blood Loss Passive

Flail's normal and strong attacks are slower than most Dexterity-based weapons but cannot be parried. It can easily stagger enemies and won't easily bounce off shields or certain enemies like the Miners found in mining caves. The physical attack of this weapon also causes blood loss buildup and once the meter is filled it will inflict Hemorrhage. Enemies affected by this status effect will take a large amount of damage relative to their Max HP.

The talisman Lord of Blood's Exultation and headwear White Mask will both increase the damage of your physical attacks when Hemorrhage is applied in the vicinity.

Infusable with Ashes of War

This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and has Spinning Chain as its default weapon skill. When activated spins the striking part of the weapon to attack, it will deal constant damage while spinning. This skill can be followed up or chained with either a normal or strong attack.

Since this skill allows you to land successive attacks, the talisman Winged Sword Insignia can increase your damage output.
