In Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, three of the 40 new demons can only be obtained through fusion accidents. These exclusive demons are Amabie, Hare of Inaba, and Kinmamon. They cannot be acquired through normal dyad fusion or special fusion, only through fusion accidents!

A Fusion Accident is a demon fusion feature that can result in completely different demons from the expected outcome.

Results to Demons with Different Race, Level, and Skills

These new demons often have different skills and races compared to their parent demons, which could be a disadvantage if you're aiming for a specific demon.

However, fusion accidents can also result in a demon of a higher level, which is beneficial, especially if you can't access them due to level differences.

Fusion accidents can mostly happen during Full Moons and New Moons. Be sure to always check the current moon phase on the upper left corner of your screen before fusing demons to avoid unplanned results!

The Mutative Element is a new miracle specifically designed to boost the rates of fusion accidents. This significantly increases the chances of triggering fusion accidents, which can be further enhanced by fusing demons during full moons.

As mentioned above, it's best to fuse demons during full moons to trigger a fusion accident. If you also have Mutative Element, a new miracle you can learn in Shinjuku in Canon of Vengeance, you can boost the rates further to trigger more fusion accidents when fusing demons.

No Fusion Accident Will Occur on Normal Days

Fusion accidents can only happen during full moons. On any other days, such as half moons, fusion accidents will not occur.

Boosted Odds During Full Moon with Mutative Element

When fusing demons during a full moon with the Mutative Element miracle activated, you can boost the odds to more than 50% to trigger a fusion accident.
