Take Her Hand for Canon of Vengeance
Choosing to take the girl's hand at the start of the game will give you the Canon of Vengeance storyline. Your game will be drastically different to the Canon of Creation and will feature the new quests, bosses, area and dungeon that are Vengeance-exclusive.
How to Start Canon of Vengeance
Don't Take Her Hand for Canon of Creation
Choosing not to take the girl's hand at the start of the game will give you the Canon of Creation storyline. Your game will feature the same story as the base Shin Megami Tensei V game and will not feature the new dungeon, bosses or quests that are in the Canon of Vengeance.

You Can Still Change Your Route
In case you decided against the route you chose during the cutscene, the game will prompt you to confirm your storyline. After this choice, you are locked in the Canon that you choose and you cannot change it past this point.

Choices That Affect the Ending
 The ending in Canon of Creation will only be determined by your choice at the end of the Empyrean. |
| Certain Miracles are locked behind certain endings. |

| Your choices can affect the secret ending being available for selection. |
Empyrean Choices and its Endings
A choice is given to the player at the end of the Empyrean that will determine the ending you get. Each ending will offer different fusions and Miracles for the player.

| I will uphold God's Order. | This choice will give you the Law Ending. Aligns with Abdiel and Dazai Ichiro |
| I will recreate the world and save Tokyo. | This choice will give you the Chaos Ending. Aligns with Hayataro and Yuzuru Atsuta |
| I will destroy the throne. | This choice will give you the Neutral Ending. Aligns with Nuwa and Shohei Yakumo |
| Create a world for humanity alone. | This ending is considered the True Neutral Ending. Required completion of subquests tied to Khonsu, Fionn mac Cumhaill, and Shiva |
Law and Chaos Specific Choices
This game, unlike other Shin Megami Tensei games, do not have choices that can affect your ending. The game still keeps track your alignment choices throughout the game and choosing options that do not line up with the ending you choose at the end can affect certain NPCs and endgame Miracles that the player might receive.

Endings Guide | What You Get For Each Ending
High and Low-Impact Choices for Law and Chaos
You are given certain choices throughout the game that determines what alignment you're going on. Certain choices can be a High-Impact Choice or a Low-Impact Choice.

| High Impact | This will be your selected path. In case of a tie, it will be Neutral |
| Low Impact | After 3 or more selections of a certain alignment, this will be your path. If there are less than 3 selection of this alignment, it will be Neutral. |

Your overall alignment is based on a total of High and Low-Impact choices made throughout the game. Below is how alignment distribution is done based on High and Low-Impact choices.

Canon of Vengeance Choices
Ending is Based on Alignment
| The ending in Canon of Vengeance is determined by your choices made throughout the game. |
| These choices line up with the Alignment Choices in Canon of Creation, pushing you towards Law or Chaos. |
| Your reaction to statements by your companions Tao and Yoko will also affect the ending. |
| Your ending will be locked in before you reach the Empyrean, and will proceed based on your alignment and favor with your companions. |
Unlike the Canon of Creation, the Canon of Vengeance decides which ending you will get based on your actions during the story and in certain subquests.
In general, making dialog and subquest choices that favor Law will push you towards the Law ending, while Chaotic choices will push you towards the Chaos ending.
Endings Guide | How to Get the Secret Ending
Tao for Law, Yoko for Chaos
Your answers to dialog raised by the characters Yoko Hiromine and Tao Isonokami will also push you towards one or the other ending. Yoko favors the Chaos ending while Tao favors the Law ending.
Throughout the game, and in reaction to the story and in certain subquests, Yoko and Tao will both speak to you and each other, allowing you to make dialog choices.
In general, the best way to push towards a specific ending in the Canon of Vengeance is to choose dialog choices that agree with or favor one character or another.
Law and Chaos Choices Influence the Ending
Your choices in different subquests that pop up during the Canon of Vengeance will influence your ending, in the same way they influence your rewards in the Canon of Creation.
The main difference is that there is no Neutral ending for the Canon of Vengeance.
