Best Demons to Use Against Pale Rider

Demons with Fire Elemental Damage

Pale Rider's elemental weakness is Fire damage, so bringing demons with access to Agidyne or Maragidyne will help extend your turn and deal more damage to the boss. For this reason, we recommend demons such as Loki, Cybele, Decarabia, and Orobas.

Demons that Resist or Block Ice and Dark Damage

Since Pale Rider and the two Loa that can be summoned use Ice and Dark type elemental attacks, bringing demons that block these damage types will shorten the enemy's turn, reducing the amount of damage you take. For this reason we recommend demons such as Belphegor and Ose as they block both Ice and Dark-type attacks.

Bring a Demon with Diamrita or Me Patra

Pale Rider and the two Loa that spawn can inflict Poison, so it helps to have a demon that can deal with status ailments using either Diamrita or Me Patra. Scathach is a good candidate for this as her fusion base level is 55 and she naturally learns Diamrita and Abyssal Mask which decreases the chances of being inflicted with status ailments.

If fused from Anzu and Kaiwan, she can also inherit Me Patra from Anzu.

How to Beat Pale Rider

Deal Fire Damage Heal Status Ailments with Diamrita or Me Patra Null Ice and Dark damag to Reduce the Enemy Turn Use Buffs and Debuffs if Available Use AoE Attacks to Take out the Loa

Deal Fire Damage

Dealing fire damage to Pale Rider will extend your turn, so bring demons that have access to Agidyne or Maragidyne. Both Loki and Cybele is are good choices as Cybele naturally learns Maragidyne and Loki naturally learns Agidyne. Alternatively you can use their essences to teach Agidyne and Maragidyne to a demon of your choosing.

Heal Status Ailments

By fusing Scathach from Anzu and Kaiwan, you can have her inherit Me Patra from Anzu to heal all status ailments for the party. This works particularly well as she also learns Abyssal Mask and Diamrita naturally, making it difficult for Scathach to be affected by status ailments, and being able to heal the party's status ailments at the same time.

Null Ice and Dark Damage

Both Belphegor and Ose null both Ice and Dark damage, making them very useful in this fight. However, they will still be affected by status ailments, so be sure to have access to Me Patra as well. Additionally neither of these two demons naturally learn Fire-type skills.

Loki is another great choice, as he nulls Ice, resists dark, and has access to Agidyne. However, Loki is weak to Poison, so that is the tradeoff.

Use Buffs and Debuffs

Jikokuten naturally learns Marakunda which lowers the defense of the enemy team by 1. Not only that, but Jikokuten also nulls Ice and is neutral against Dark.

Take Out the Loas with AoE Attacks

The Loas in this fight can be a problem as they can inflict even more status ailments on your party. If you have Cybele in your party, use Maragidyne to both hit Pale Rider's weakness and deal some damage to the Loas. Keep in mind that Pale Rider can summon more of them, but this also forces Pale Rider to was a turn doing so.
