Shinjuku, 1st Block	Mastema

Begin The Great Adversary subquest by heading towards the Dragon Cave in Shinjuku, 1st Block and talking with Mastema to accept the subquest.

Finish the Story and Complete the Serpent King Subquest

You will need to have a cleared save file and be on the Canon of Vengeance path of the game and complete the Serpent King subquest so you can access the Great Adversary subquest.

The Great Adversary Subquest Information

The Great Adversary Subquest is Vengeance Exclusive

This subquest is exclusive to the Canon of Vengeance.

Players on Canon of Creation will not encounter this quest in their initial playthrough, but can be encountered during their New Game+ run by choosing the Canon of Vengeance this time.

How to Complete The Great Adversary

Finish Both the Main Story and Serpent King Subquest

The Great Adversary subquest will become available once you've cleared the main storyline with the Canon of Creation with the True Neutral Ending, or any of the Canon of Vengeance endings and completed the Serpent King subquest.

If you wish to have the subquest available rather sooner, you will need to complete the Serpent King subquest before arriving at Empyrean.

After finishing the game once with any of these endings, The Great Adversary quest will be unlocked on every Vengeance save file, regardless of it being a NG+ save or not.

Travel to the Boss Battle Location

After you've accessed the subquest, you will be teleported to where Satan is located. It is recommended that your party be optimized and prepared before engaging in battle with Satan.

Stock Up on Recovery and Support Items/Skills

Satan is arguably the most powerful boss in the game, boasting resistance to physical attacks and nullifying some elemental attributes such as Fire, Light, and, Dark attacks.

It is best to prepare for items that can heal and buff you in battle, or recruit demons specializing in healing and support skills.

Recruit the Strongest Demons Specializing in Magic

Satan's resistance to physical attacks will greatly limit your choices in battle, so be sure to recruit the strongest demons in your inventory that specialize in Ice, Elec, or Force skills.

Acquire Satan's Fusion and Godborn Mode

After you've defeated Satan, you will be able to acquire his Special Fusion as well as an additional New Game + option called Godmode. Godmode will enable you to exceed the level cap and change it to 150 for you and your party.
