How Should You Name the Main Character in SMTV Vengeance
The Player is Free to Choose
You can name the main character anything you want, but knowing that this is a lengthy game, you may want to think it over before you commit to 60+ hours of being called something you may later regret.
The Nahobino's name doesn't change anything in the gameplay, although it may affect your sense of immersion if you decide to go with something overly silly. If you're alright with that, though feel free to name the Nahobino as you see fit.
First and Last Name
Not only is Shin Megami Tensei V a Japanese game, it is set in Japan, meaning naming conventions follow the standard Japanese style. Other characters will commonly refer to the main protagonist by his last name, whereas characters close to the main character will refer to him by his first name.
8 Character Limit
The most difficult part of thinking up a name for the Main Character is the 8 character limit for his first and last name. Since japanese names usually take up two letters to form one kana, thinking up a cool japanese style name may prove a tough obstacle to pass.
