The Press Turn Battle System makes a triumphant return in Shin Megami Tensei V. The Press Turn Battle System is a battle system that allows characters to gain extra turns or lose turns depending on what happens in battle.
Exploiting an enemy weakness or landing a critical hit will increase your team's turn by one and missing an attack or using a move the enemy is strong against will make your team lose one turn.

The Magatushi gauge is a new addition to Shin Megami Tensei V. It can be located at the top right of the screen, right below the Press Turn icons when in battle. Once the meter is full, the player can trigger powerful attacks with varying effects, known as Magatsuhi Skills.
The Magatsuhi gauge can be filled up and stored between battles, so it is recommended to fill it up before boss fights.
