Best Demons to Use Against Chimera

Demons with Force Attacks

This might be tricky as Demons that use Force skills are almost always weak to Elec which Chimera is also proficient in. However, Chimera only uses its Ziodyne skill when it is at low health so there should be no worry if you strategize around this attack pattern.

Demons that Can Block or Resist Phys

For the most part of the battle, Chimera relies on its Phys skills, so best to bring along demons that can block, resists, or retaliate when hit with a Phys attack.

Use Fire Dampener Before Chimera Casts Maragion

Chimera casts Maragion after it taps into its Omagatoki: Critical skill. Make sure your Nahobino casts Fire Dampener so your entire party blocks Maragion, effectively cutting off Chimera's turns.

Chimera Follows Up Normal Attack with Frenzied Chomp or Severing Bite

On normal turns, it will follow up its normal phys attack with either Frenzied Chomp or Severing Bite, all of which are single-target attacks. The allies Chimera targets are random, but always cast spells or items that can block Phys on the Nahobino and your main healer/support Demon.

The limit of the amount of Phys Dampener you can possess in your inventory is very low, and so we recommend using Tetrakarn for less dire situations.

Not Resistant to Phys Attacks

Although Chimera is proficient in Physical skills, it is not resistant to Phys attacks in any way. Don't hesitate to dish out heavy Phys attacks on Chimera to deal damage.

Keep Debuffing Chimera's Damage

Chimera does not have any Support skill that can undo your debuffs to its damage, so keep casting a skill like Tarunda once every round to weaken its attacks.

Keep Debuffing Chimera's Defense

Chimera does not have any Support skill that can undo your debuffs to its defense, so keep casting a skill like Rakunda once every round to weaken its attacks.

Alternatively, having Yoshitsune in your party is advantageous as his skill Pierce Armor simultaneously deals Phys damage and lowers enemy's Defense by 1 rank for 3 turns.

Chimera Uses Ziodyne After a Phys Attack at Low Health

The only time Chimera starts using Ziodyne is when its at low health, so make sure to cast Elec Dampeners on your entire party or Makarakarn on your Force-based demons that are weak to Elec.
