Weak to Ice Can use Ice Block Vulnerable to ailments Watch out for the Agidyne spam

Can Use Ice Block

Even with weakness to Ice, Baal can use Ice Block, usually before ending his turn. Refrain from using Ice skills when he uses this skill (unless it ignores affinity resistance like Ice Age) and switch to Physical or Dark attacks while Ice Block is active.

Vulnerable to Ailments

Although Baal is resistant to all ailments, he is still vulnerable to them. Try using Ailment skills or items if you have press turns to spare or if you have skills that both deal damage and inflict ailments.

We recommend inflicting Seal, Charm, and Sleep, especially when Baal uses Omagatoki: Critical.

Watch Out for the Agidyne Spam

When Baal starts gathering Magatsuhi and uses Omagatoki: Critical at critical health, he will continuously cast Agidyne instead of cycling through his other skills. Make sure to use a Fire Dampener to block the first Agidyne and remove two of his press turn icons.

Best Demons to Use Against Baal

Demons with Ice Skills

Other than critical hits, Ice skills are your only option to deal increased damage and gain bonus turns in this fight since Baal is weak to Ice. The best demon for this role within the recommended level is Skadi but if you can grind a few more levels, you can fuse Arioch instead.

You might need to cover their weaknesses though, as Skadi is weak to Fire and Arioch is weak to Electric, affinities that Baal's skillset has.

High Physical Skill Potential

Alternatively, you can bring demons that has strong Physical skills and a high skill potential to match. Demons like Siegfried, Mara, and Futsunushi are excellent choices as they aren't weak to any of Baal's attacks.

Press Turn Burners

Tagging along some demons that can reflect or absorb attacks are extremely useful in any battle. Since Baal's damaging attacks have Electric, Physical, and Fire affinities, bring demons like Siegfried, Thor, and Cerberus as preemptive measure to burn Baal's press turn icons
