Futsunushi or Adramelech

Futsunushi and Adramelech are two recruitable rival demons in Shin Megami Tensei V (SMT 5). Read on to know which demon is best to side with and the advantages you get for choosing which demon you chose as an ally.

Futsunushi or Adramelech

You'll encounter these two opposing quests in the Taito region. Both demons will ask you to eliminate the other.

Futsunushi and the Amatsukami have lived in Tokyo for a long time, and Futsunushi wishes to defend Tokyo from an influx of new demons who wish to take over. On the other hand, Adramelech believes that the strong deserve to rule over Tokyo, and wants to put Futsunushi in his place.

The demon you choose to ally with will become a party member, while the other won't.

Allying with Futsunushi

In Defense of Tokyo 1

Talking to Futsunushi south of the Ueno Park Leyline Fount will begin the In Defense of Tokyo sidequest. Futsunushi will ask you to eliminate Adramelech, who is attempting to take over Tokyo, where the Amatsukami have lived for a longer time.

Futsunushi is a demon all about Physical power. His Matarukaja boosts your party's attack power, Phys Pleroma boosts Futsunishi's attack even more. Impaler's Animus boosts your next attack, and Catastrophe deals Severe Physical damage.

Futsunushi has no elemental attacks but will obliterate with pure Physical might. Futsunushi blocks Light, Mirage, and Confusion and is weak to Dark and Sleep.

Futsunushi will be much more helpful in the upcoming boss fights with Odin, Zeus, and Vasuki, as he's not weak to any of their attacks.

Allying with Adramelech

The Raid on Tokyo 1

Talking to Adramelech closeby the Umayabashi Leyline Fount will begin the The Raid on Tokyo sidequest. Adramelech believes that the strong should be the one to rule Tokyo, and asks you to eliminate Futsunushi.

Adramelech specializes in Dark and Fire magic, possessing powerful skills such as Agibarion and Mudobarion. Hellish Brand is a grant Fire skill unique to Adramelech, as it deals Heavy damage to all opponents and removes their buffs as well.

Adramelech blocks Dark and is weak to Ice. Adramelech has a high Magic stat and can cast 2 elements as well as the Physical skill Catastrophe.

Adramelech will be less useful in the upcoming boss fights with Odin and Vasuki since Adramelech is weak to Ice.
