Begin the Liberate the Golden Stool subquest by talk to Anansi in Shinjuku, 3rd Block and accepting the demon's request.

How to Complete Liberate the Golden Stool

Accept Request from Anansi

After talking with the client, you will need to defeat Onyankopon to complete the subquest. Do note that accepting this request will lock you out from accepting Onyankopon's subquest called Reclaim the Golden Stool.

Talk to Onyankopon

Head to Shinjuku, 1st Block and proceed to the location of Onyankopon. Interact with him, and choose the option that fulfills Anansi's Request. A battle will ensue after you've selected the option.

You could reach Onyankopon's location by using the climbing point on the left side to reach the cliff where the demon is currently on.

Onyankopon can reflect Physical

Onyankopon casts Tetrakarn at the start of his turn to protect his weakness against Physical. We highly suggest using elemental or Almighty attacks. Nahobino's Sakanagi, or Physical-piercing attacks, like Puncture Punch are reliable attacks to do damage past his reflect barrier.

Use Light Dampeners to Nullify Light Attacks

Onyankopon will unleash light attacks against the party that can be nullified using Light Dampeners, so be sure to have them in your inventory by searching for them in specific areas or purchasing them from Gustave.

Report Back to Anansi

After you've defeated Onyankopon, report back to Anansi and receive the rewards from completing the Liberate the Golden Stool subquest.
