Carry-Over and Save Transfer Bonuses are available when starting Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (SMT V). Read on to learn more about the Carry-Over Feat and see all the save transfer bonuses here.
List of Contents
You can transfer up to 3 demons that are currently active in your Demon Compendium from your previous save data.
The transfer will automatically carry over the active members in your team, so be sure to change the members into the demons you want transferred on your current game.
Some demons cannot be transfered over from your previous save file, mainly due to their connection in the main storyline.
Some stats and abilities may change after the data transfer from the base game to the DLC. Skill Aptitude and Max HP/MP will still be retained, so progress from upgrading those specific stats will not go to waste.
If you have a save file from the base game, you can receive the following items shown above at the beginning of the game. You will receive these bonus items whether you have completed the game or not.
In addition to the default items you can acquire from the save transfer, you will also be able to receive specific items that are connected to the route you've taken and cleared from the previous game.
The most recent saved data will be the one transferring over, so be sure that your latest saved data has all the progress you prefer to be transfered over.
Story Walkthrough and Route Guides
To receive the transfer bonuses from your previous save file, you will need to play both the Shin Megami Tensei V and Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance on the same Switch account.
If the previous save file is located on either a PC or PS account, you will not receive the corresponding bonuses.
The most recent saved data from the base game will be the only save file to be carried over in your current game. Be sure that your most recent data have all the progress you prefer in order for the data to be carried over in your current game.
During the start of the game, you will be given an option to either acquire the bonuses from the save data of your previous game, or start the game without the bonuses offered.

And what if I played the original SMTV on my old Switch hardware and now I would like to continue on a new one and transfer save to my new Switch OLED. Is it possible to transfer such save without the NSO service or I need to subscribe to NSO for this?

I originally thought I could choose which demons to bring with me. I didn't think it'd automatically choose from the party I've got, so I had to redo the entire true ending fight just to have the demons I actually wanted carried over.
