Virtual Trainer allows you to fight bosses you've already defeated in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (SMTVV). Check out how to unlock and find it, the different difficulties and battles, as well as the rewards you get for beating it.
List of Contents
To unlock the Virtual Trainer, you'll first need to beat Nuwa in the Tokyo Diet Building as part of the Main Storyline. Once she's been defeated and you can teleport back to the Tokyo Diet Building, you'll have access to the Virtual Trainer.
When you teleport back to the Tokyo Diet Building's Terminal Room, the NPC for the Virtual Trainer will be standing there waiting for you. From there, you can talk to him to start a Virtual Trainer battle.
Difficulty Levels | |
---|---|
Original Mode | You fight the bosses at the same power level when you initially fought them during the main story. |
Challenge Mode | All enemies will start at level 100. Each time you complete Challenge Mode, the enemies' levels will increase by 100. The enemy level cap for this mode is 999. Enemies have an extra Press Turn. Enemies will use Omagatoki: Pierce instead of Omagatoki: Critical. Enemies will have the passive skill Impaler's Revenge. |

To unlock more battle options, you'll need to progress through the main storyline first. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the Virtual Trainer, especially in Challenge Mode, consider finishing the story first so that you have every Battle option available to you.
For each battle, you'll have to fight the bosses consecutively, and you won't have time to heal up your party members. Make sure to prepare your team so that you can deal with every enemy you'll encounter.
If the Protagonist dies at any point, you will go into the Game Over screen and you'll have to reload a save from the main menu.
The only rewards you'll get from repeatedly beating the Virtual Trainer are Experience and Money. Unless you desperately need the EXP and Macca, these fights only serve to test your builds and team composition.
