This guide will teach you how to fast travel in Shin Megami Tensei V (SMT 5). Learn how to use the fast travel function in game to get around quickly without having to backtrack.
List of Contents

Fast travel in SMT 5 is unlocked upon reaching the Mita Leyline Fount, the second Leyline Fount you find after the first one at Tamachi. You will know you've reached it when you see a cutscene of the protagonist meeting Sophia for the first time.
After the cutscene, simply exit the Leyline Fount and Gustave will give you a short tutorial on fast traveling.

Visit any Leyline Fount and select Leyline Crossing to fast travel to any Leyline Fount you've previously visited.
Note that you need to register Leyline Founts before you can fast travel to it. This is done by simply accessing it for the first time.
Return Pillars are items that teleport you back to the last Leyline Fount you rested at. The Return Pillar is a key item that is obtained after beating Hydra, the first major story boss. Once you have obtained the item, just tap the L button to use it.

Leyline Founts have other uses aside from fast travel. See all the options below:
