SMTV What Carries Over in NG+
This is a guide to the New Game Plus features in Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (SMT V) and everything that carries over. Read on to learn all of the New Game Plus features, the difference between the Newborn, Reborn, and Godborn options for NG+, and what Miracles and Demons carry over.

While similar content carries over in both Godborn and Reborn Newgame Plus Modes, such as Items, Demons and Protagonist level, Newborn will have you start almost completely fresh. See below for detailed comparisons of the 3 modes.

Godborn carries everything over into New Game Plus similar to Reborn. The only difference is that enemy demons are noticeably stronger than usual.

This option is meant for those seeking a more challenging experience and is recommended only for veterans of the game.

Reborn also essentially transfers everything over into NG+ aside from key items. This option is meant to subsequent playthroughs easier when going for multiple endings or to fight the different Superbosses in each route.

The Newborn option carries over the Demon Compendium and Battle Analysis Data, allowing you to purchase your registered demons, as well as look at enemy strengths and weaknesses respectively. You also have some Miracles carried over, making your next playthrough slightly easier.

List of Miracles That Always Carry Over

Miracle Description
Divine Persuasion Demons will sometimes join you unconditionally.
Divine Eminence Demons above the Nahobino's level can be recruited through negotiation.
Rank Violation Level limitation for demon fusion is lifted
(Uphold God's Order Ending)
Inheritance Violation A demon’s starting skills can be overwritten during skill inheritance
(Recreate the World and Save Tokyo Ending)

Note: This list was made for the original Nintendo Switch release of SMTV, and new or different Miracles might carry over in SMTV: Vengeance.

New Game Plus (NG+) Demons

Depending on which ending you pick in the Canon of Creation, you will have different demons unlocked for fusion in your subsequent playthroughs. These demons will also carry over every time you start a NG+ save, meaning you'll need to play the game 3 times to complete your Demon Compendium.

Do note that this is for Canon of Creation, and we have yet to confirm if you unlock the same or different demons if you get the Canon of Vengeance endings.
