Vitality is one of the five stats that you can raise in Shin Megami Tensei V. Learn what Vitality does, how it affects your character, and if you should raise this stat!
List of Contents
Each point in Vitality reduces the damage received from enemy attacks, both physical and magic. Invest the stat points that you gain on Vitality to make your character tankier and avoid getting taken out during the first few turns.
Though Vitality increases HP in the previous games, it does not work the same way in SMT 5 and will only increase your character's defense. You can increase your HP by leveling up your character.
Stats Guide: All Stats Explained
You can raise your Vitality stat by increasing your character's level. Leveling up may give points to your stats as well as an additional point that you can manually allot to a stat of your choice.

Vitality is a good investment if you feel like your character lacks survivability and needs more defense. However, we recommend increasing your damage output first so make sure that your character can also deal significant damage, unless you are going for a tanky role.
