SMT 5 - Principality or Lilim

Principality and Lilim are two recruitable rival demons in Shin Megami Tensei V (SMT 5). Read on to know which demon is best to side with and the advantages you get for choosing which demon you chose as an ally.

Principality or Lilim

You'll encounter this quest during your Shinagawa dungeon run wherein both demons will ask you to eliminate the other.

After speaking with the group of Lilims west of the Shinagawa Pier Leyline Fount, one of them will tell you they wish to visit the human world. This will then lead you to Principality near the Container Yard, asking you to eliminate the Lilim who are likely to wreak havoc upon the world.

Take note that the demon you chose to ally with will become a party member, barring you from taking in the other in your roster.

SMT 5 - Principality or Lilim

Principality is a law-aligned demon who agrees with Abdiel's mission. When it comes to combat, Principality is an effective light-based attacker, starting out with Mahama, an AoE light attack, and Hamaon which deals heavy light damage.

Comparably, he is more vulnerable to a wider range of elements—mainly to Dark and Seal, however he is a versatile support demon, being proficient in both Healing skills and Support skills.

You can benefit from acquiring Principality when you go up against Lahmu for the second boss encounter with it.

Allying with Lilim

SMT 5 - Principality or Lilim

Just like her dark-aligned comrades, Lilim believes that the strong should rule the world. Lilim is a proficient Elec-based attacker, starting out with Mazionga, a med-damage AoE elec attack, and Zionga which deals heavy elec damage.

She is weak to Ice, can block Electric and Charm, and resist Sleep. In addition to her elec skills, Lilim is also proficient in Ailment attacks.

You can benefit from Lilim when you fight Fionn after your run in Fairy Village.
