How to Beat Lucifer (Secret Ending)

How to Beat Lucifer (Secret Ending)

Use Stat Buffs and Debuffs

Though the basic fighting strategy remains the same, Lucifer becomes significantly stronger in the secret ending. Make the most out of your turns by using attacks that can both deal damage and lower stats like Zeus' Panta Spane and Shiva's Tandava. You can also buff your team up to make Lucifer's attacks much less agonizing.

Affinity Resistance Changes on 2nd Phase

Lucifer will change his affinity resistances completely during the 2nd phase of the boss fight, losing all his defenses against the first 6 affinities but gaining the ability to absorb Dark skills. If you have strong Light skills ready, you can use themm to strike Lucifer's weakness for free press turns.

Be Prepared Against Ailments

Starting from the second phase, Lucifer will start using Ailment skills often. Have your Amrita items or recovery skills like Me Patra ready in case your allies get afflicted with any of the status ailments

Mostly Uses Deadly Fury on 2nd Phase

Lucifer's skillset also changes during the 2nd phase and will begin using Strength-based attacks. His favorite move, Deadly Fury, deals severe Physical damage to a target but can be completely ignored (along with Gaea Rage) if your team has resistance to Physical skills.

Watch Out for Hot Dark Matter

Lucifer's Attack will hit the rank ceiling when he uses Hot Dark Matter. Even with your affinity resistances, Lucifer can still rip your team apart with Freikugel and Magma Axis if you ignore this unique Support skill.

Lower his stats, especially Attack, with skills like Debilitate and raise yours, especially Defense, with skills like Luster Candy to turn the tables on Lucifer. Be sure to also cleanse stat debuffs using Dekunda from your ally who Lucifer uses Holy Crucifixion on right away.

Resistances Revert Back on 3rd Phase

Lucifer will revert his affinity resistances to what they were during the first phase. If you've been using Light attacks during the second phase for easy press turn gains, these attacks will make you lose all press turn icons this time around. Use the same piercing or Almighty attacks that you used during the first phase for this third and final phase.

Destroy the Morning Star Immediately

Focus on destroying the Morning Star on every round Lucifer creates one. If the star survives the round, Lucifer will destroy it next turn instead to deal severe Almighty damage to your team.

Lucifer's affinities change upon creation

Lucifer will share the same weaknesses as the Morning Star until it is destroyed. You can use this opportunity to dish out heavier damage by striking his weaknesses and gain press turn icons.

Remember that once you destroy the Morning Star, Lucifer will be resistant to these four affinities again.

Use multi-target skills

Use multi-target skills like Maragibarion to both strike Lucifer's weaknesses and make sure the Morning Star doesn't survive your turn.

High Almighty Skill Potential

During the first and third phases, you can only deal decent damage to Lucifer using Dark attacks. Skills with an affinity other than Dark will be either resisted, blocked, or absorbed. Fill your team with demons with high Almighty skill potential if you lack strong Dark skills.

Freikugel is an excellent Almighty skill to have if your demon possess high Almighty skill potential and high Strength stat.

Strong Piercing Skills

Ignore Lucifer's defenses using attacks with Pierce effect. Since Lucifer has resistance to almost every affinity, you can give your demons skills with piercing effects if you don't want to waste their high skill potential on other affinities than Almighty.

We recommend using Yabusame Shot and Hell Thrust as they are Physical skills and therefore can critically hit.

Few to No Weakness

Organize your team with demons having few weakness or no weakness at all. Except for Light and Dark, Lucifer can throw every skill affinity at you so best come prepared with resistances.

Transfer Null/Repel/Drain passives to your demons through demon or essence fusion to cover each affinity, especially their weaknesses. Again, Lucifer does not have Light and Dark skills so it's fine to leave the two when planning your defenses.

It is easier to achieve this strategy using most of the endgame demons like Odin and Metatron since they don't have a lot of weaknesses to begin with.

Endgame Supports

Be sure to add healers and supports to your setup as you'll be facing against a changing skillset full of severe level attacks. Healing skills like Samarecarm and Mediarahan as well as Support skills like Dekunda and Dekaja will help you keep up with Lucifer in this fight.
