By default, Nahobino is weak to Dark damage, so if you haven't adjusted for this, Daisoujou can instantly cause a Game Over. Use an Essence to choose a more suitable set of Affinities for this boss battle to avoid this problem.
Make sure that your selected damage dealers know Agi or better yet Agilao to hit Daisoujou's elemental weakness. For other party members that don't have access to Fire type skills, rely on physical skills.
Daisoujou's main damaging ability is Meditation which can chunk out a massive amount of HP and MP from your characters. It is highly recommended to end this fight as fast as you can or your party members will run out MP quickly to continue the fight.
Making proper use of your Omogataki: Critical is also crucial for this battle as it will allow you to unleash tons of burst damage to Daisoujou. Since Daisoujou will be using the first few turns to charge up Magatsuhi, using Dampeners for the first few turns is highly recommended before you dump all your damage later on when Daisoujou starts using stronger moves like Preach and random Mamudos.
Mothman is the only Demon around this level that has access to Me Patra, making it almost necessary to have him in your party if you want to face Daisoujou as soon as possible.
After charging Magatsuhi, Daisoujou consistently uses his dark attack first and will use his light attack the next time he charges Magatsuhi. This is an alternating pattern that you can take advantage of by using Dark Dampeners and Light Dampeners, so be sure to buy three of each from Gustave before going into the boss fight.
If you run out of dampeners before the boss goes down, switch to guarding when Daijousou charges Magatsuhi to avoid taking critical hits.
You can find Daisoujou near the Tennouzu Leyline after accepting the quest from Sophia in the World of Shadows.
Mothman | Berith | Bugs |
Hua Po | Matador |
Daisoujou's elemental weakness is Fire-type attacks, so prioritize bringing Demons that can learn Agi or higher variations of it. Hua Po is a good candidate for this spot on the team, although you must be level 31 to fuse her. Also if Ame no Uzume has access to Agi she can be a mixed healer and attacker.
Physical damage can also be a good source of damage, so bringing along Demons like Berith is worth considering.
Another reason Bugs is useful in against Daisoujou is that it blocks Dark damage, and surprisingly, Bugs isn't weak to Light damage. That paired with access to Agilao if fused from Aeros and Mothman make Bugs a very useful candidate. Note that if you choose to fuse Bugs this way, you will need to buy back Mothman, making this route a bit more expensive.
Important Note: Daisoujou doesn't typically cast Mahama, so prioritizing resisting/blocking Dark damage takes priority. Daisoujou does however cast Mahama after charging Magatsuhi the second time in the fight. To clarify, Daisoujou always uses Mamudo after the first Magatsuhi charge and then Mahama after the second. This is an alternating pattern that you can exploit by managing your party's affinities and using Light and Dark Dampeners which you can buy from Gustave.
For this fight, Ame no Uzume is a good option for a healer and mixed attacker since she has access to Fire skills and Media to heal all allies.
You will also want to have Demons like Mothman that can use Me Patra to heal up any status ailments, as Daisoujou's skill Preach will cause problems otherwise.
