How to Use Spiked Caestus

Scales with Dexterity and Strength

The Spiked Caestus equally scales with both attributes but is still mainly a Dexterity weapon. It will have an improved scaling bonus with its main attribute once the weapon has been upgraded past +13. The Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom can further increase the damage of your attacks by raising your Dexterity.

Additionally, you can change the affinity of your weapons by using different whetblades to improve the default scaling of this weapon to better scale with your other stats.

Has a Passive Blood Loss Buildup

Spiked Caestus' physical attacks cause blood loss to build up and filling up the meter will inflict Hemorrhage to an enemy dealing damage that is relative to their HP. It has fast attacks which make applying the status effect relatively easy and the default weapon skill allows you to keep attacking while getting hit.

The talisman Lord of Blood's Exultation and headwear White Mask are good supplementary equipment that will increase the damage of your physical attacks when Hemorrhage is applied to either you or enemies.

Infusable with Ashes of War

This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and is equipped with Endure as its default weapon skill. It boosts the user Poise and damage negation for a brief period.

Taking hits will not stagger you easily while this skill is active allowing you to keep attacking through enemy attacks. It is a very useful skill against enemies or bosses that have quick successive attacks, for example Malenia's Waterfowl Dance.
