How to Use Mace

Scales with Strength and Dexterity

The Mace is a Strength-based weapon and has the highest scaling bonus with this attribute. The Starscourge Heirloom talisman can further increase the damage output by raising this stat.

The weapon can get even more bonus scaling from Strength by applying a Heavy affinity that will improve its scaling grade.

Good Early Game Hammer

The Mace can be acquired early and is a very good customizable early game weapon that deals good damage. It has moderately fast striking attacks that can easily stun lock weaker enemies and the charged strong attacks can do a lot of Poise of Damage. The damage of your charged attacks can be improved with the Axe Talisman.

Ashes of War such as Seppuku, Chilling Mist, or Poisonous Mist are recommended as additional damage sources since the weapon is capable of applying status effects.

Infusable with Ashes of War

This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and has the weapon skill Kick by default. When activated it performs a strong kick that is effective against an enemy's guard and can break Poise.

The kick is guaranteed to open up a blocking enemy for a critical attack and stagger high Poise enemies. Pairing this with the Dagger Talisman will enhance the damage dealt by critical strikes.
