How to Use Battle Axe

Scales with Strength and Dexterity

The Battle Axe primarily scales with Strength and leveling it up will increase the damage of your physical attacks. You can get the most out of the scaling bonus with the talisman How to Get Starscourge Heirloom: Effects and Locations that raises your Strength and by applying a Heavy affinity that improves the default scaling grade of the weapon.

Additionally, you can use whetblades to apply different affinities that will let the weapon scale with your other stats as well.

Versatile Early Game Weapon

The Battle Axe is an early game weapon that can be customized to fit your build or playstyle and it is a good weapon for slashing attacks that deal high damage. If you are looking to powerstance two Battle Axes, it is the starting weapon of the Hero Class and can be purchased from the Twin Maiden Husks.

It has a moderately fast attack speed that can be used to apply status effects. The Blood affinity will grant the weapon the ability to apply Bleed while the Ashes of War Chilling Mist will allow you to apply Frostbite and Poisonous Mist will grant you Poison. The strong attacks of this weapon can deal a good amount of damage to Poise and the charged attacks can be improved with the Axe Talisman.

Infusable with Ashes of War

This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and has the weapon skill Wild Strikes by default. This skill allows the user to swing the weapon continuously by holding the skill button. It can be followed up with either a normal or strong attack for an additional finishing blow.

The weapon skill gives the user high Poise while attacking and consecutive attacks are extremely effective at stun locking enemies. It uses both FP and Stamina while in use, good talismans to pair with Wild Strikes are the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia, Green Turtle Talisman, and Shard of Alexander. These talismans will increase the damage dealt by the skill and give you fast Stamina recovery.
