How to Use Hand Axe

Scales with Dexterity and Strength

The Hand Axe is a Dexterity-based weapon and has the highest scaling bonus with this attribute. The Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom talisman can further increase the damage output by raising this stat.

The weapon can get even more bonus scaling from Dexterity by applying a Keen affinity that will improve its scaling grade.

Good Early Game Axe

The Hand Axe can be acquired early and is a very good customizable early game for Dexterity players looking for a weapon that deals good damage. It has moderately fast slashing attacks that can easily stun lock weak enemies and the charged strong attacks can deal a decent amount of Poise damage.

It can be used to apply status effects and the Blood affinity will grant the weapon the ability to apply Bleed. The Ashes of War Chilling Mist will allow you to apply Frostbite while Poisonous Mist will grant you Poison.

Infusable with Ashes of War

This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and the default weapon skill Quickstep, which allows the user to perform a dash in any direction to avoid attacks and look for openings to attack your opponent.
