How to Use Bastard Sword

Scales with Strength and Dexterity

The Bastard Sword initially scales equally with Strength and Dexterity but will have a higher scaling grade with Strength once the weapon has been upgraded. Investing in this attribute will have the most stat scaling bonus to physical attack gain.

If you want this weapon to scale better with your attributes, changing the weapon's affinity with Whetblades can improve the scaling grade of specific stats.

Good Early Game weapon

This weapon can be acquired early in the game and its attacks have a substantial range. It deals a good amount of physical and Poise damage, when wielded with one-hand uses horizontal slashes that can hit multiple enemies in front of you. While two-handing it gives you more damage and attacks with upward and downward vertical slashes.

Infusable with Ashes of War

This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and is equipped with Stamp (Upward Cut) as its default weapon skill. When activated it places the user in a readied stance and can be followed up with a strong upward slash that can launch enemies upward.
