Scales with Dexterity and Strength

The Guardian's Swordspear has a B scaling in Dexterity and an E in Strength at +25 with the Standard Affinity. Since this is a Dexterity-based weapon, you can get the most out of its scaling with the Prosthesis-Wearer Heirloom talisman which raises Dex by +5 and by applying a Keen affinity to the weapon which improves the Dex scaling.

Other affinities can also be applied with different Whetblades to allow it to scale with your other attributes.

Highest Base Phys. Damage for Halberds

The Guardian's Swordspear has the highest base physical damage of any Halberd in the game. This weapon shares a moveset with Loretta's War Sickle with the normal attacks being diagonal upward thrusts.

Since it has fast attacks, it is effective at inflicting status ailments to enemies. Some recommended Ashes of War that apply status effects are Blood Tax, Seppuku, Chilling Mist, and Poisonous Mist

This weapon can be infused with Ashes of War and is equipped with Spinning Slash as its default weapon skill. It enables the user to perform a 360-degree spinning slash capable of hitting surrounding enemies. This skill can be followed up with another input to perform another spinning attack.

The Rotten Winged Sword Insignia is a good talisman to pair with this weapon, as this talisman enhances the damage of successive attacks.
