How to Use Wakizashi

Scales with Dexterity and Strength

The Wakizashi has equal Dexterity and Strength scaling and depending on the affinity that you'll equip for the weapon, will improve the scaling of a specific attribute.

For example, the Keen affinity will raise Dexterity to B while Strength will be lowered to E, while the Heavy affinity will raise Strength to B and remove the scaling with Dexterity.

Able to Powerstance with Katanas

This weapon can be powerstanced with a Katana and will have the default Katana powerstance moveset. Attacking with your off hand weapon will use both weapons to attack and the weapon skill of the right-hand armament will be used by default.

It can also be equipped with the Parry Ash of War skill to deflect incoming attacks and open your enemies up to critical strikes. Additionally, powerstancing will only work if the Wakizashi is equipped in the left hand and not in the right.

Has a Passive Blood Loss Buildup

The weapon has a decent amount of blood loss buildup and can be applied easily with the weapon's fast attack animations. Since it can cause blood loss to buildup quickly, the talisman Lord of Blood's Exultation will increase Wakizahi's physical attacks by 20% when the status effect is applied near you.

Infusable with Ashes of War

The weapon is equipped with Quickstep as its default skill and allows the user to perform a dash in any direction to avoid attacks and find an opening to attack enemies.

It is infusable with compatible Ashes of War to fit your build or playstyle and additional debuffs such as Poison or Frost works well as an additional damage source with the weapon's passive.
