How to Unlock Carved in Blood

After freeing Verathiel in Light Imprisoned, this Quest will automatically unlock and provide you with the path to your next objective.

Carved in Blood Quest Walkthrough

	Objective
1	Find Mikayel's Prison Follow the path out of the area with Verathiel.
2	Enter the Bloody Cavern
3	Talk to Mikayel
4	Kill the Butcher
5	Free Mikayel The Butcher's Cleaver will be nearby – pick it up and use it to show Mikayel. Destroy the Soul Siphon afterwards and free Mikayel.
6	Reach Skarn's Citadel At the end of the path, you will have to travel through the Abyssal Gate to lead you to the next objective.
7	Search for the First Pit of Anguish

Tips and Strategies

Keep Your Distance

During the fight against the Butcher, try and keep your distance. He has several attacks that has an area of effect that can damage you in a space circling his immediate surroundings. He also has one attack to watch out for, where he flings out chains in several directions. If hit, it will drag you towards him for a quick area of effect attack.

The only caveat to this strategy is that the Butcher can sometimes send Hellhounds at you, which may eat up precious time you could be using to attack him.

Use Traps

The Butcher has an attack where he charges straight towards you in a straight line. This is the perfect time to lay out several traps against him – you can bait out this attack by setting some distance between you and the Butcher.
