Zaerhud can be found to the southwest of the Tree of Inifuss in Dark Wood. However, do note that this boss is a random encounter, only appearing if the player gets the Wanted Side Quest related to it.

How to Find Zaerhud

Keep Exploring the Overworld

New Event - Wanted

Unique Purple Elite monsters like Zaerhud have a chance of randomly spawning in the vicinity when you're nearby. When a Unique Elite has spawned, the text New Event will appear on screen, along with Wanted in the Quest Sidebar.

Unique Elites are quite rare, so if the monster can't be found in its listed location, try leaving and coming back to the area later.

Ice Beam

Ice Beam Affix
The monster summons three ice beams from the sky in quick succession that cause damage and inflict Chill. Simply stay out of its range to avoid damage.

Death Spawn

Spawn Affix
Upon death, Slimes emerge from the monster's corpse and must be eliminated.
